Foundations course was helpful

Took the UX/UI Design Foundations course. It was clear and easy to follow. Gave a good overview. No issues with signup or accessing materials. Got what I needed from it.

Good price for UX course

I was looking for a UX design course that wasn't super expensive, and Avocademy's UX/UI Design Foundations course popped up. I managed to get a little money off with one of their seasonal deals, which was nice. It felt like a solid investment without breaking the bank. The content was pretty comprehensive for the price. I'd say it's worth it if you're trying to get into this field without spending a fortune.

Started with Figma Training

I decided to try out Avocademy's Figma Training after seeing some good reviews. It was pretty easy to sign up, and I got access to the materials right away. The lessons were straightforward and helped me get a better handle on Figma, which I needed for my portfolio. It's not a full bootcamp, but for just focusing on one tool, it did the job. I felt like I learned a good amount without it being too overwhelming or taking up too much time.

Avocademy vs Designlab for someone completely new to UX/UI. Which one would you recommend? I'm looking for something affordable but also effective.

J Joseph 3 weeks ago
Avocademy is definitely more affordable than Designlab, especially for the foundations. I think the mentorship at Avocademy is pretty solid too. Designlab might be more in-depth but also way more expensive.

For a complete newbie, Avocademy is a good entry point without breaking the bank. Designlab is also good, but if budget is a big concern, Avocademy gives you a solid foundation without the huge price tag. Plus, you can always do advanced stuff later.

Thinking about Avocademy's Foundations course. Does anyone know if there are any active discount codes floating around? Like a student discount or something?

G Grace N. 2 weeks ago
Yeah, check if any current or past students shared a referral link. That's usually how you get a bit off the Foundations course. Saw a few on Reddit before.

I used a referral code back in January, got 50 bucks off. They don't do like, big promo codes often, it's mostly those referral things. Worth asking around for one!

Is Avocademy legit or is it one of those sketchy bootcamps? Saw some mixed reviews online and just want to make sure it's not a scam.

It's totally legit! I finished their Foundations course last year and it really helped me build a portfolio. You get a certificate and everything. No scam vibes at all.

Nah, it's not a scam. My friend went through their career jumpstart program and actually landed a pretty decent junior UX role afterwards. Takes effort on your part obviously but they provide the structure.

how long does the Avocademy Foundations course usually take to complete? I work full-time so I'm trying to figure out if it's manageable with my schedule.

T Thomas Gonzalez 1 month ago
It's pretty self-paced, which is nice for full-time workers. I did mine over about 3 months, maybe 10-15 hours a week? You can definitely go slower or faster depending on your availability.

Depends how much time you put in. I blitzed through it in like 6 weeks but I was really focused. Most people I know took 2-3 months on average, fitting it around their jobs.

Anyone have experience with the refund policy for Avocademy? What if I start the Foundations course and realize it's not for me?

D Danielle H. 1 month ago
I think you have a short window after starting to get a full refund. Can't remember the exact days but it's not super long. Better check their site for the precise info.

Yeah, I looked into this when I signed up. Afaik, if you drop out really early, like within the first week or two, you can get your money back. After that, it gets trickier, like partial or no refund depending on how much of the course you've done.
